Canadia eh, only met someone at the border I'm sorry to say.

But living in one of the few states where you can zip across the dunes in a buggy, hike the trails, ski down the mountain or cross country and surf in the ocean while watching the sun set in one day (okay maybe not ONE day) is pretty nice. And enjoying this weird dryspell we are in here.

Kentucky, eh? I would have assumed a little hut on the backside of a mountain where you live with your entire extended family and your wife's too. Oh wait...

That's the same family. *rimshot*

Or am I thinking of West Virginia. I forget...

JK Whosa, I'm from Utah (insert polygamy joke here)...

Ciao,

Nono, in West Virginia, it's wandering around without shoes. I ought to know, I lived there for 15 years.

Lol winter for most canadians is only between end November (with global warming December is getting hotter) and mid-April. The cold months you talk about are our autumn and spring and very tolerable in terms of cold.

September through May winters are for people from the nothern parts of Canada. Population densities are really low in those areas (you might guess why). Also, not that I take insult to it, but we have things to do even when it's cold. Just like you americans, we work 8 hours a day, come back home, cook dinner and then whatever time is left we take for ourselves. I wonder in those few hours what super-fun activities you're talking about.

Heh, yeah, I find it funny most people's image of Canada, which totally neglects the fact that most Canadians live further south than millions of Americans -- Seattle and Minneapolis are both large American cities located further north than Toronto. Most Canadians enjoy a climate similar to that of New York, and much nicer than what you get in Minnesota, the Dakotas, Montana, etc...

I'm an exception to that Dreamsmith. Winnipeg has much colder weather than much of the US, although I'm sure you experience similar weather. Our temperature goes from +30 Celsius (85 F)in the summer(sometimes higher) to -30 Celsius(-22 F) in the Winter(and lower for a few weeks of the winter. we got to -40 C(-40 F) for a couple weeks this winter).

Work 8hours a day?!? You lazy bastard....Im pulling 12's consistantly, spend most my time digging foundations for igloos and freezing the blocks by hand. The other 12 hours I'm spending hunting for Caribou and Beavers to feed my dog sled team and children, and trying to find ways to light the frozen trees by rubbing them together just to cook my caribou....Or maybe I live in Calgary, have never seen a real igloo, and don't consider -5 celsius average to be cold at all.....my winter doesn't seem as bad as the generalizations so far. Now I do come from northern Alberta, Peace River to be exact, and we have had -60 on occasion, but not for more than 2-3 days that I can recall...but I used to just hibernate with the bears for the winter months back then.

Yeah, I live in Edmonton, and believe me this is getting ridiculous. We are just recovering after yet another Mid-March heavy snowfall. Believe me, people in the States have nothing to complain about. (Except Alaska)
